Preliminary 2009 AYP Baseline and Improvement Target Data
This workbook contains 2009 ELA and mathematics Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) Baseline and Improvement Target data for schools and districts. Data are based on the 2008 MCAS results of students in all grades assessed in the school or district (grades 3-8 and 10), and are included for all student groups meeting minimum group size requirements in 2008. (The data do not include Early Childhood Centers or schools that opened or closed in SY2008-09.)

Use this worksheet to set student performance goals for the district, school, or student group aligned to Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) expectations for the years 2009-2014. On page 1, enter descriptive information, the actual number of students assessed in the baseline year and the number to be assessed in the future. Use Page 2 to communicate information about goals and the progress the school, district, or student group is making toward the federal goal of 100% grade-level proficiency by the year 2014.
