Massachusetts Charter School Dissemination Grant Program: Project Descriptions
The Massachusetts Education Reform Act of 1993-an ambitious and sustained commitment to improving student learning-included among its provisions the creation of new, independent public schools called charter schools. Charter schools were established to "stimulate the development of innovative programs within public education" and to provide "models for replication in other public schools."
Funded by grants from the United States Education Department Charter Schools Program, these dissemination projects are one of the ways in which Massachusetts charter schools are sharing successful practices. They are intended to provide information that may help any school improve.
