The following points summarize the guidelines:

Partners in Community Planning - page 4

  • The makeup of the partnership should reflect the assets of each particular community and be tailored to the community.

Roles and Responsibilities - page 4

  • There is a clear difference between the role of the ABE Community Planning Coordinator and the partners. Coordinator and consultant roles are delineated.
  • Fiscal responsibilities include making sure coordinators are in the SMART Staff Chart

Community Profile/Assets and Needs - page 6

  • When collecting primary data partnerships should use at least two of the primary data collection methods when gathering data from community groups

Vision and Mission Statements - page 7

  • Definitions to help partnerships check for clarity in partnership statements

Strategic Plans - page 7

  • Definitions to help partnerships check for clarity when developing and/or updating goals, objectives, action steps and outcomes with example.
  • A SMARTT criteria which objectives must meet in order to be achievable.
