Student and Families

Students & Families

Massachusetts students are first in the United States in reading and math and are competitive internationally. Their success is a direct result of support from families, educators, civic leaders, and the community.

The web pages below are designed to help families explore different school options and individual districts, learn more about supports for English language learners and students with disabilities, become familiar with statewide testing and graduation requirements, and find resources to help students in elementary, middle, high school, and beyond.

In addition, adult learners will find information below about adult education, including English classes.

The rate of Massachusetts high school students graduating in four years improved for the 10th consecutive year at 87.5 percent.

Massachusetts high school students have the highest average score in the nation on the ACT test, an annual predictive measure of college and career readiness for many high school graduates.
