What's in this Mailing?

This monthly mailing for June contains materials that are important to our programs and that will help to serve our current and future students as well. Please review the information and share with your staff.

  • FY09 Goals Policy Update:
    Two new goals related to entering and completing occupational training programs that will be available in FY 2009. The FY09 Student Goal Form will be posted shortly in the SMARTT Information System section of our website http://www.doe.mass.edu/acls/smartt

  • The FY09 Student Intake Form is now posted to: Download MS WORD Document

  • New Release of Information (ROI) Form for FY 2009 Download PDF Document  Download MS WORD Document
    Programs will be required to use the new "Release of Information" (ROI) form starting in FY09. The form is being translated into the current 14 languages, and audio clips will be available which will be posted on our ACLS website by July 1, 2008. Programs will have six months to ensure that continuing students sign the new form. Instructions about how to record this updated information in SMARTT for continuing students will be sent in the July mailing.

  • GED Testing Service (GEDTS) has announced that the release date of the new GED series is January 2012. Download PDF Document  Download MS WORD Document
    GEDTS is trying to be proactive and provide as much information as possible as it becomes available.     What is it? Voter Education, Registration, and Action campaign 2008 (VERA 08) is a non-partisan effort aimed at adult learners and program staff in the New England states. Its goal is to educate adult learners about voting, electoral issues and mobilize them to vote in the 2008 elections.

  • Free National Institute for Literacy Discussions Lists:
    The online discussions lists give literacy practitioners and other stakeholders opportunities to discuss the literacy field's critical issues; share information, experience, and ideas; ask questions of subject experts; and keep up-to-date on literacy issues, including adult basic skills such as reading, writing, and Numeracy.
